Paradise Series Books in Order

The Paradise series by Elin Hilderbrand is a mystery-thriller departure from her signature Nantucket summer romance novels — a tightly plotted series following Nantucket detective Nikki Salter through cases that draw on the specific social world of the island while delivering the suspense plotting of genuine crime fiction. Hilderbrand brings to the series the intimate knowledge of Nantucket that has made her the island's definitive literary chronicler, now applied to darker material.

The series offers Hilderbrand readers a different register than her beloved summer novels — the stakes are higher, the tone is more tense, and the mysteries require sustained attention rather than the leisurely pleasures of her romance work. For crime fiction readers, the series provides an unusually vivid and socially specific setting alongside competent thriller plotting.

The direct continuation between novels makes reading in order essential. Begin with the first book in the Paradise series.
