Jesse McDermitt Series Books in Order

The Jesse McDermitt Caribbean Adventure series by Wayne Stinnett follows Jesse McDermitt, a retired Marine and former special operations contractor who lives aboard his boat in the Florida Keys and consistently finds himself drawn into high-stakes situations involving drug runners, human traffickers, and various threats to the Caribbean communities he has come to call home. Stinnett writes the nautical thriller genre with the authentic local knowledge of someone who knows the Keys intimately.

Jesse's extended found family — the people he has accumulated around his island home and his boat — provides the series with its ensemble character work, and the specific world of Keys fishing culture, island life, and Caribbean navigation gives the novels their distinctive atmosphere. Stinnett self-published the series before finding wide commercial success, demonstrating the appetite for authentic, setting-specific nautical adventure.

The series is extensive, with more than twenty novels that build Jesse's world incrementally across a long-running timeline. Begin with Fallen Out (2014) and read in order to experience Jesse's development and the accumulation of his community.
