Summer Hamilton

Summer Hamilton is the disciplined, rule-following daughter of a prominent sports agent in Elsie Silver's Flawless — a woman assigned to manage the professional image of the unpredictable bull rider Rhett Eaton and who is the last person who should be developing feelings for her client. Silver writes Summer with genuine respect for her competence and her professional investment — her reluctance to allow anything personal to develop with Rhett is credible because the professional stakes are real and clearly established.

The power dynamics of Summer's professional relationship with Rhett give Flawless a specific tension that Silver develops carefully — the rules Summer is trying to follow exist for real reasons, and breaking them would have real consequences. Her gradual discovery that Rhett is not only his reputation is given time rather than being rushed.

Silver's Chestnut Springs series has built a substantial readership in contemporary western romance, praised for its authentic rodeo and ranch settings, its ensemble family dynamics, and its heroes whose complexity is revealed through consistent characterization rather than sudden revelation. Begin with Flawless (2022) and read in order.
