Matt Drake

Matt Drake is the action thriller protagonist of David Leadbeater's long-running series — a special operations soldier and adventurer whose missions combine military action with the kind of mythological and archaeological MacGuffins that define the Dan Brown-influenced adventure thriller. Drake is defined by his combat expertise, his loyalty to his team, and his willingness to take on missions that blend conventional military threat with supernatural or historical mystery.

Leadbeater is one of the most prolific writers in the modern action adventure genre, building a devoted readership through rapid publication of consistently entertaining thrillers that deliver the genre's pleasures reliably. Drake's series is his longest-running and most popular creation, with dozens of novels spanning a career that has made Leadbeater one of self-publishing's most successful thriller authors.

For readers who want fast-paced action adventure with a team-based protagonist, mythological mysteries, and global settings, the Matt Drake series is one of the most reliably entertaining options in contemporary self-published thriller fiction.
