Ava Wilson

Ava Wilson is the protagonist of the Bleak Haven series, a student at Bleak Haven High whose identity is shadowed by her family connection — she is the niece of an infamous murderer, a relationship that defines how others see her regardless of who she actually is. The series follows her attempts to forge her own identity within a community that cannot separate her from her uncle's crimes.

Ava's central struggle is the unfairness of inherited reputation — the way other people's worst acts can define those connected to them without their consent. Her navigation of high school social dynamics, complicated by the weight of her family history, gives the series both its thriller elements and its emotional depth. The Bleak Haven setting is rendered as a community small enough that secrets are impossible but large enough that they can still destroy.
